Cosmic Mood Pendants
collaboration no.3 with Mindful Adornment
These pendant necklaces are a modernized and classy version of the mood-stone throwback…but these stones are not your typical gas station or gift shop find, these necklaces are handmade of sterling silver and hold faceted glass stones with thermochromic liquid crystal that communicate your mood.
Each pendant necklace is made specifically for you, and will be hand stamped with the words “magic maker” to remind you that you too create magic in this world!
If you prefer to have your own message stamped on the back, make note of the exact wording on your order form.
Once your order is placed, your necklace will dispatch within 1-3 weeks.

Interview with Sabrina
How did you find yourself as a maker? How has this career unfolded for you?
From the start I knew I didn't want a traditional 9-5 office job — I wanted to be my own boss. For me, that equated to happiness and freedom. As a kid you could always find me collecting rocks from all over, I had bags and bags of them around my room and in the yard… I would put them everywhere! Looking back, it makes a lot of sense that with Mindful Adornment I get to incorporate beautiful stones with my metalsmith work.
While in high school I thought I would become a body piercer. I did a whole report on it. The world of body modification was extremely intriguing to me and I could look at body jewelry all day. At one point something clicked and I said to myself "I could probably make that!". So I searched the internet for schools and found a bench jeweler school in Portland, Oregon called The Portland Jewelry Academy and the rest is history!
What is the most magical memory you have as a child?
I have a few, but a special one is: In the backyard of my childhood home we had a trampoline. My sister and I were sitting on the trampoline, essentially meditating, with the wind swirling all around us. Our eyes were closed and we moved our hands around as if we were making the wind get crazier and crazier. When the wind got crazier we both would go, "Ooooh, ahhhh did you see that?!" That feeling was magical!
What is magic to you, as an adult?
Magic feels like falling in love, or looking at the moon. Like sweet, nurturing memories… reading a book and falling into an entirely different world. And one of these days I'll see the Northern Lights and I'll add that to my list as well.
What do you love most about your business?
I absolutely love being able to connect with so many people through my art. I have met so many lovely folks through social media who have found my work and resonated with it. They loved it enough to share it - support it - gift it - and that has been incredibly humbling.
Who or what has had the biggest influence on your creativity/your business?
I am incredibly inspired by Vancrafted Studio in the way that she holds herself and her business. She and I have a lot of similar goals and seeing her thrive inspires me to keep going.
Another artist I'm very inspired by is Soliloquy Jewelry, she incorporates literature, heritage, myth and magic as she puts it and she does it so well it's astonishing!
There is soo many more, and this goes for every other artist thriving in their work, being unique and making an impact on others hearts — I love it! Artists in general inspire me so much!
What is one habit you have formed that has become an important part of your success as a business owner/maker/artist?
Not giving up. My mind can play tricks on me. If I had listened to the countless times it told me to give up, I wouldn't be where I am. Having a supportive partner to help me remember my goals and why this work is so important has also been a saving grace.
What inspires you to make?
It may sound cliche but Nature is truly the ultimate source of inspiration. By making work as Mindful Adornment I get to share a piece of my heart with others who fully receive it, and that is a beautiful gift. Another source of inspiration is the dream of having my own home and being able to make an income that will support me and my lil family!
What has been the biggest challenge for you on this professional journey thus far?
Honestly, being my own boss has proved to be the biggest challenge. Simple things like making a schedule and staying true to it, that is really difficult.
What is one thing you would tell an aspiring or new entrepreneur that would encourage them to start/keep going?
I would say, when the going gets rough, keep going! Keep making work. The more you can keep going, the more practice you will get. In a few months you can easily see the progress you've made, and you'll be grateful for all that time you didn't give up!
